Rara Neagră is an indigenous variety for the Moldova region, also known as Babeasca Neagră or Cherniy Redkii. It is closest in characteristics to international Pinot Noir. The wine has a light ruby-red color, a light structure, and almost imperceptible tannins, with a fairly high acidity, making the wine light and refined and suitable for pairing with delicate dishes. The aroma of this wine is full of red fruits and floral notes of violets, peonies, or irises. Aging in oak gives it integrity and prolongs the finish.
