Domeniile Cuza is a winery located in the village of Alexandru Ioan Cuza in southern Moldova. Since 1864, when ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza returned fertile lands to the peasants, the wine produced here carries the legacy of past times and the people who cultivated these lands. Part of the Valul lui Traian wine region, these lands have been cultivated for centuries with grape varieties that produce complex wines. The Domeniile Cuza vineyard covers approximately 600 hectares of vines, featuring both indigenous varieties such as Rară Neagră, Fetească Neagră, and Viorica, as well as noble European varieties well adapted to the local viticultural area, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Saperavi, Malbec, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. Domeniile Cuza winery is part of the Purcari Group, which manages around 1,450 hectares of vineyards and operates six production platforms in Moldova, Romania, and Bulgaria.
